Feb 7 & 10 — LNY Shows

Fordham / NYU Lunar New Year Performances

This February, we performed at the Lunar New Year celebrations of both NYU and Fordham University. We had so much fun showcasing our wushu skills to off-campus audiences. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to get a video of our NYU performance, but our Fordham performance is on our YouTube channel! Watch the set ↗

Feb 22 — Showcase

CU Wushu Showcase

This February, we had the pleasure of hosting the first ever Columbia Wushu Performance Showcase! Our friends from Lion Dance, Taiko, Naginata and Goju-Ryu Karate set the stage for our Avatar-inspired performance, pitting the last Earthbender (Jordan) and the Assassin (Embyr) against one another. The club battled as fierce fire warriors, awe-inspiring air nomads, epic earth benders and well-balanced water tribe members. Check out the full performance here!  ↗

Dumpling Social

What better way to celebrate our very first showcase than by making dumplings from scratch together? After the Columbia Wushu Performance Showcase, we spent the night watching previous performances, singing Hamilton in blind karaoke, playing Just Dance, and, of course, enjoying a feast of dumplings and wontons. Apr 26 — Collegiates

Collegiates @ UMD

In April we traveled to UMD to compete at collegiates. We had such a great time meeting other teams, reconnecting with alumni, and watching (and getting inspired by) some amazing wushu! This year we had 13 members compete and it was our first time performing two group sets!

May 4 — Banquet

Spring Banquet

Finally, Columbia Wushu ended this academic year off with the annual banquet, a time to both reminisce over the amazing year, wonder in awe at our members' various unique talents, and celebrate the impact that our club's seniors have left on the club. Superb vlogging abilities, magic shows, Kpop choreos, and autoCAD weapons were just a fraction of the marvels displayed by-and-for both students and alumni. The banquet wrapped up with paper plates, senior send offs, and catering from Hungarian Pastry and Fumo. Photos are on our Instagram!  ↗
